Danbury pins Warde to keep streak alive
FAIRFIELD -- Senior John Smith had the weight of the Danbury High wrestling team's 311-match winning streak against FCIAC opponents on his shoulders Wednesday night against Fairfield Warde in the season opener for both teams.Smith also had the weight of the Mustangs' Alex Delaney pressing against his chest with less than a minute left during what proved to be an epic battle at 171 pounds.
